Youth from Jerome TeenSpace attended the May 11th License and Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Checkpoint to show support for Santa Ana Police Department’s (SAPD) efforts to identify impaired drivers. The youth provided SAPD officers with banners illustrating their appreciation for keeping the community safe.
Santa Ana Police Department funds checkpoints through a grant received from the Office of Traffic Safety. SAPD collaborates with Community Service Programs (CSP) – Project PATH to provide drivers with educational handouts about DUI laws and the cost of a first time DUI.
As a special thanks to the SAPD, CSP-Project PATH, Santa Ana Main Library and JeromeTeenSpace Youth provided officers working the checkpoint with community donations from Chick Fil-A and Starbucks.
