On Thursday, June 7th, 2012, the participants in the Seeds to Trees Digital Media Technology Program, funded by a Workforce Investment Act (WIA) grant, had a certificate recognition ceremony. At this ceremony, fifteen participants were awarded a Digital Media Technician certificate for the successful completion of one of the following specialties in digital media: Digital Music, Video Production, and Website Design. These students invited friends and family to celebrate their accomplishment.
John Didion, Executive Vice Chancellor of Human Resources and Educational Services, commended the students for their efforts and presented them with the Digital Media Technician certificate. Ruth Cossio-Muniz (Director, Corporate Training Institute from Rancho Santiago Community College), Gerardo Mouet (Executive Director, Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Agency), Cheryl Eberly (Young Adult Principal Librarian, Santa Ana Public Library), Beatriz Preciado (WIA Grant Coordinator, Santa Ana Public Library) and the numerous, passionate digital media instructors who have helped these fifteen students on their journey toward success attended this event.
The WIA program is a partnership between the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Agency and the Rancho Santiago Community College District/Corporate Training Institute. The Friends of the Santa Ana Public Library sponsored this event.
