The Santa Ana Public Library hosted an evening holiday program that featured a special storytime, singing, dancing, and tamales. The program took place on Tuesday, December 13 just outside of the library, where a stage was set up for performances. Youth Services Senior Librarian Silvia Cisneros presided over the event, which was attended by 300 adults and children. The night’s festivities were kicked off by a tree lighting ceremony, followed by children’s songs, and the reading of Gary Soto’s holiday classic Too Many Tamales. The evening’s entertainment continued with a special performance by children’s dance troupe Ballet Folklórico Renacimiento, as well as holiday caroling provided by local OCHSA students. A special holiday craft was provided to all of the children in attendance, as were tamales which were generously donated by Northgate Market, Araceli Cazales of State Farm, and Maria Gallardo of Casa Verde Real Estate. The holiday program was sponsored in part by Northgate Market, State Farm, The Friends of the Santa Ana Public Library, and The Mill Bakery.
