On Saturday, June 1, 2013, the City of Santa Ana will host the 7th Annual Santa Ana Health & Fitness Fair. The event will offer food, music, entertainment, VIP basketball game, and door prizes. This event will be held at Rosita Park, 706 N. Newhope St. from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A health and fitness focused resource fair and fitness activities will be provided for all attendees to enjoy. PAYAN X will be providing group exercises on the grass field and is open for all to participate.

The Santa Ana Public Library is pleased to present author Mark Salzman for a discussion of his book, True Notebooks. Salzman’s memoir is a personal account of working with teenage offenders in a Los Angeles Juvenile Hall writing class. In voices of great emotional presence, the youth write about what led them to a life of crime and about the long road behind bars that lies ahead.

The Santa Ana Public Library held its annual Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros (Children’s Day/Book Day) event on Saturday, April 27, 2013. This event, which has been held at the library since 2009, promotes the importance of children, literacy, and culture throughout the community. This year the location of the Día festivities expanded to include the Plaza of the Sun next to City Hall, as well as its usual spot in the library’s turn-around area.

On May 4th, the Santa Ana Public Library and the Santa Ana Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Agency will launch its Third Annual "State Of My Heart" exhibit. This year’s theme will focus on traditional dresses and rebozos (shawls) from the various states of Mexico.

Arts Orange County (Arts OC) and El Centro Cultural de Mexico will present “Día Del Niño”/“Day of the Child”, a featured event as part of Arts OC’s 28th Annual Imagination Celebration, a month–long county-wide festival of arts for families and children.

“Día Del Niño”/“Day of the Child”, a traditional Mexican holiday recognizes children, celebrates a child’s importance in society, and promotes their well–being. The day-long festival will take place Sunday, April 28, 2012 at Birch Park/Senior Center in Downtown Santa Ana.
